About this search:
This CRISPER search work a bit differently than others. Here's how to use it:
This search gives the total amout (to date) of multi-year competitive awards. In order to see the award, you must be searching on the year in which the initial competitive award was made.
For example: BillyBob receives a three year competitive award beginning in 2001. Your search string on 2001 grants is fed to NIH CRISP and matches BillyBob's award. CRISPER then searches for BillyBob's grant in 2001 financial files and subsequent (but not previous) years, bringing back all matches:
BillyBob | Three-Footed Scaly Mongoose mtDNA Polymorphisms | ABC University | 2001 | $500,000
BillyBob | Three-Footed Scaly Mongoose mtDNA Polymorphisms | ABC University | 2002 | $500,000
BillyBob | Three-Footed Scaly Mongoose mtDNA Polymorphisms | ABC University | 2003 | $500,000TOTAL: $1,500,000
It is important to understand that this search will bring back grants matching your query only if the initial competitive award was made in the year in which you search. In other words, BillyBob's grant will not be returned on searches of 2002 and 2003, because the initial competitive award was not made in those years.
Limitations in the NIH CRISP interface require that we restrict this search to competitive grants occurring in a single year (per search).
** CRISP is erratic with name searches.Grant sums should be examined and verified manually when using a personal name search because CRISP returns are frequently flawed. Inaccuracies in the principal investigator result emanate from NIH CRISP and are not the responsibility of CRISPER.
